Battle of the Bets pays out $1.26 million

Battle of the Bets has been raging on Hard Rock Bet since March 18th. The rules are simple, pick one of the two sides offered each day, bet at least $1, and if your side hits: you’re splitting the pot. While the first month of the promotion has featured its fair share of success stories – there’s officially a new record with bettors taking home $351 bonus bets on Sunday night. Here’s how it went down:

The Battle of the Bets prize pool typically starts at $250K and builds from there. However, to celebrate last weekend’s UFC 314 card at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Hard Rock Bet elected to up the stakes and juice the prize pool of Battle of the Bets up to a million dollars. However, it didn’t hit last Saturday, or Sunday, or Monday… and so on. Meanwhile, the pot just kept growing, until it sat at $1,260,000 on Sunday afternoon.

$351 Bonus Bet Sweat

For Sunday’s Battle of the Bets selection players had to choose between two options from the NBA playoff game between the Rockets and Golden State Warriors:

  • Each team to score 114 or MORE points
  • Each team to score 99 or FEWER points

The odds on both were set at +700.

During the regular season both teams averaged about 114 points per game, making the over here seem slightly more logical. However, a surprising 95-84 win for the Warriors officially cashed for the under bettors – prompting an even distribution of the $1.26m prize pool.

In total, 3,597 players wagered the $1+ on the winning side, each of whom received a $351 Bonus Bet in what amounts to the largest Battle of the Bets hit to date.
