Below we’ll cover everything involved with Florida sports betting and Hard Rock Bet. This includes instructions on how to bet online, where you can place bets in-person, how sports betting was ultimately legalized in the state, what sign up and deposits look like, and more.

Hard Rock Bet – The Only Legal Sportsbook in Florida
Following an early access period, Hard Rock Bet officially began accepting bets in Florida on December 7, 2023.
Hard Rock Bet, and more specifically the Seminole Tribe of Florida, offer statewide sports betting based on a 30-year exclusive gaming compact. As a result, Hard Rock Bet is the ONLY legal sports betting option for Floridians. This makes Florida one of the more interesting sports betting environments in the country.
Florida sports bettors can download the Hard Rock Bet app or register on the website and begin betting at any time.
Keep in mind that betting apps in the United States are geofenced based on the region in which you are using them. Even if you have used a legal betting app in another state before arriving in Florida, it won’t be accessible while you are in the state. It’s also worth mentioning that offshore sportsbooks are not legal.
Hard Rock Bet is the only legal, licensed online betting app in Florida.
Florida sports betting news and updates
What’s happening in the world of Florida sports, and Florida sports betting?
- November 18: Tom Herman has been fired as the head coach of Florida Atlantic University. Once highly sought after in coaching circles after posting a 22-4 record in two years at Houston, Herman fell short of expectations after four years at the University of Texas before landing at FAU. He didn’t survive two seasons with the Owls, winning just six total games.
- November 17: The Dolphins late-season resurgence continued with Tua throwing for 288 yards and 3 TDs against the Raiders to bring the Dolphins to 4-6 and keep their AFC playoff hopes alive. The Jaguars disappointing season continued with a humbling 52-6 loss to the red-hot Lions.
- November 16: The Gators evened their record at 5-5 with an impressive 27-16 win over the LSU Tigers. Likewise, South Florida also improved to 5-5 on the season with a 59-24 win over Charlotte. Florida Atlantic also lost 18-15 to Temple, and are now 2-8 on the season and 0-6 in AAC play. The Panthers also got back on track with a comfortable 5-0 win over the red-hot Jets.
- November 14: the Devils got the better of the Panthers again on Thursday night, this time by a 6-2 margin.
- November 12: The Panthers suffered a 4-1 home loss to the New Jersey Devils, falling to 11-4-1 on the season.
- November 11: Notch one in the weekly win column for Florida football teams. The Dolphins went on the road to Los Angeles on Monday Night Football and beat the Rams 23-15. While the offense wasn’t quite at its best, the defense showed up in a major way – holding the Rams to five field goals. At 3-6, the Dolphins now have winnable games against the Raiders and Patriots to vault themselves back into the AFC playoff picture.
- November 10: Sunday didn’t go much better for the state of Florida. The Jaguars played well on defense but managed just 7 points in a loss to Minnesota. Down in Tampa the Bucs lost 23-20 to the 49ers on a last second field goal.
Who’s allowed to bet on sports in Florida?
To legally bet on sports in Florida, and with Hard Rock Bet, a few core requirements must be satisfied:
Florida sports betting age
You must be at least 21 years old to bet on sports in Florida. All but a select handful of states that have legalized online sports betting have chosen 21 as their minimum age, so Florida is very much on par here. If you aren’t 21, you can’t place bets on Hard Rock Bet, or anywhere else in the state of Florida.
You have to actually be in Florida
All Florida sports bettors must be inside the state of Florida in order to legally place a bet. Since online sports betting in Florida is geofenced, you will have to prove your location before you can place a legal wager on Hard Rock Bet.
When you download the Hard Rock Bet app to your mobile device this is done easily through the Location Services function of your phone. As long as you grant the app permission to use your location, you’re all set.
If you’re going to bet online with Hard Rock through a computer you will be asked to download and install GeoComply, which will effectively relay your location to the sportsbook.
As long as you are physically in the state of Florida, and can prove it through your phone or with GeoComply, you’re good to go here.
Hard Rock Bet also offers sports betting in New Jersey, Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia. Hard Rock Bet also launched with Illinois sports betting in August 2024.
Getting started with Hard Rock Bet in Florida
Everyone looking to engage with online sports betting in Florida can do so easily by downloading the Hard Rock Bet app from their favorite app store, or visiting the hardrock.bet website.
Creating an account only takes a few moments. You’ll be asked to enter some personal information like name, address, email, choose a password, and the like.
Notably, you will be asked to provide the last four digits of your social security number before you can bet on sports in Florida, or with Hard Rock Bet. This is the industry standard across all states that have legalized sports betting. Before you can place a legal bet, you have to prove who you are – and the last four digits of your SSN helps to do that.
Keep in mind, no Hard Rock Bet promo code is required at any point during the sign up or deposit process to claim the best possible bonus offer (more on this to come).
Florida sports betting promotions
Hard Rock Bet regularly offers Florida sports betting promotions for both new and existing players alike:
Sign up offer: $100 back if your first bet doesn’t win
The current sign up offer for new customers is up to $100 back if your first bet doesn’t win. How does the promotion work? Let’s explain.
All new Florida sports bettors will be eligible for the offer with Hard Rock Bet. Simply make a deposit after creating an account and place an initial wager. If that wager happens to lose, Hard Rock Bet will credit a Bonus Bet that is equal to the amount of the lost wager, up to a maximum of $100.
There are a few terms and conditions that accompany the offer. Qualifying wagers must be at least $10, only the very first bet will qualify, the maximum award is $100, and importantly, resulting bonus bets will expire after 7 days – so be sure to use it! Further, Bonus Bets for this promotion will only pay out winnings. For example, placing a successful wager with a $100 Bonus Bet and +100 odds will return the user $100, the profit, as opposed to $200, the profit plus the initial stake. Full T&C apply.
No Hard Rock Bet promo code is required to claim the above offer.
Boosts
Florida sports bettors will also have access to Odds Boosts and Profit Boosts through Hard Rock Bet. What are boosts? Exactly what it sounds like. It’s a chance to take a wager at a boosted price or payout.
For example, let’s say you’re looking at NBA games for the night and see one you like at +110, but it’s actually received an Odds Boost to +120. This means you stand to win more without risking more if it wins.
With a Profit Boost you’re in charge of where to apply it, and instead of the odds changing, it’s the payout. For example, if a wager was set to pay $100 but you had a 20% profit boost – that takes the potential payment up to $120.
What boosts are currently available in Florida? Check the ‘Boosts’ and ‘Promotions’ section of the app or website. Look for the golden rocketship.
Deposits and withdrawals for Florida sports betting
After signing up Florida sports bettors can fund their Hard Rock Bet account through a variety of popular methods. These methods include:
- Instant bank transfer: Safely access your bank and facilitate easy, quick transfers to and from your account.
- Credit/Debit Cards: A very popular method for adding funds to Hard Rock Bet. Notably, you can’t withdraw to a card – so be prepared to set up the bank transfer option so when you need to cash out, you don’t have to wait. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are supported.
- PayPal: Safe, secure, fast – PayPal has been around forever and still functions as a top payment choice for Hard Rock Bet customers.
- Venmo: Venmo is another extremely fast, safe, and reliable choice. What’s more, it can be used for deposits and withdrawals.
Rest assured all of your Florida sports betting transactions are completely safe with Hard Rock Bet.
